A man with hands of a surgeon & ears of a musician
Growing up the son of a music teacher, Art Heller has a deep appreciation for good music. He is also a musician who has always enjoyed playing the piano, trumpet and violin. Today, he is a retired orthopedic surgeon and piano technician in Denver, Colorado, as well as an avid collector of antique phonographs and related memorabilia. Both interests combine his natural talent for fixing mechanical objects with his love of music. Art has been tuning pianos for over 40 years beginning while in the Navy stationed on the island of Guam.
After retirement from orthopedic surgery, Art has become one of only 2000 registered piano technicians worldwide with the Piano Technicians Guild.
Art is the past president of the Old West Antique Phonograph Society and consults with people around the world about their personal collections and antique finds.
